Hi! I’m Sarah, the founder and Principal Groomer for Moggsy Malone, where I offer professional cat grooming services. I live in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire with my husband, 2 rabbits, 8 chickens, and a rescue cat named Big Bruce. With over 30 years of experience as a professional training consultant and a qualified business coach, I am now a fully qualified mobile cat groomer.

The gorgeous “Big Bruce” came into my life in late 2021. He’s a chocolate-colored British Shorthair with the most spectacular golden orange eyes. As a rescue, I had little history of his past, but I knew he didn’t have a great start in life. Although I had cats when I was a child, this was my first foray into the world of cat parenting, and like many, I wanted to care for him in the best possible way.
Being a novice cat parent, I scoured the internet for advice on everything from food to litter trays, toys, and yes, how to groom him. Surprisingly, there isn’t an awful lot of high-quality guidance on professional cat grooming. So, what to do? I decided to enroll in a locally run short course focused on cat grooming services.
After my initial few days of training, I was hooked. I opted to extend my studies and completed a Level 3 Diploma in Cat Grooming & Salon Management by iPET Network (regulated by Ofqual). During the training, I gained extensive experience grooming various cats, both in a salon setting and as a mobile cat groomer, all with different temperaments and needs. It became clear to me that many cats have loving guardians who need assistance in maintaining their grooming schedules—whether that’s nail clipping, thorough brushing, knot removal, or even a complete shave down. By early 2024, I set up Moggsy Malone mobile cat grooming to help cats and their guardians in the comfort of their own homes.
I have specialized in cat grooming services, ensuring there are no alarming doggy smells. Using specialist feline-friendly products, I groom at your cat's own pace to ensure they are as relaxed as possible. I treat all my customers' cats as I would my own – they are the most precious things to us! My work ethos is to achieve the best possible results while always keeping your cat's wellbeing at the forefront of everything I do. I always try to end a groom on a positive note with your cat.
As a mobile cat groomer, I work holistically, respecting the limits and tolerance of each individual cat. I do not use force, scruff, or otherwise “restrain” your cat. I might use a towel as a barrier or an Elizabethan collar to protect myself from being bitten. During a grooming session, you will hear me chatting quietly to your cat, giving them plenty of reassurance, breaks, play, and treats so that they remain comfortable and calm.
Most importantly, I take my time and do not rush – I work WITH your cat, not against it, making it a far more enjoyable experience for you, your cat, and safer for me too.
I have been trained in various handling techniques to keep your cat (and myself) safe, and I have undertaken professional cat grooming and cat first aid training as part of my studies.
