All bookings are subject to the T&Cs below. Variations to the T&Cs may be made from time to time and we will send you any changes in any of the T&Cs. Booking an appointment with Moggsy Malone Cat Grooming constitutes a contract and affirms You are accepting the T&Cs Conditions below.
Within the T&Cs, all references to “You” or “Your” denote the Owner, Guardian or Responsible Person of the cat. All References to “We”, “Us”, or “Our” denote Moggsy Malone Cat Grooming.
Pricing Quotes
We always provide a quote for grooming based on the information that is given to Us about Your cat and their requirements. The standard pricing estimates are guidelines and based on the time taken to groom a coat in good condition. If, when the groomer meets Your cat, We find that their grooming requirements are different, We will advise You of any extra costs at the beginning of the groom after We fully assess the condition and temperament of Your cat. You agree to pay the revised price provided by Us on the day.
Deposit & Balance of Payment
To make an appointment, We require a deposit of £30.00. For Claw trim only services, 100% of the fee is required up front payable by bank transfer. This fee is non-refundable but it can be moved to a different date provided that a 48-hour notice is given. On the day of Your appointment, the deposit will be subtracted from Your total payment plus the travel fee. The balance must be paid the same day as the grooming (accepted forms of payment are cash, bank transfer or Tap to Pay via your mobile phone). Bank details will be provided if required.
Travel Fees
A travel fee of 50p per mile from WA4 4JU to the grooming address and back will be applicable for all grooming sessions.
Cancellation or rescheduling appointments
We require at least 48 hours notice of a cancellation or if You need to move the booking to another date. If You move Your booking to another date with at least 48 hours notice We will carry over the deposit to the next booking. If You cancel or want to move the booking with less than 48 hours notice You will lose your deposit. If You or Your cat are not present when the groomer arrives for Your appointment then Your deposit is non-refundable. We reserve the right to refuse service for clients who have a history of repeated, late cancellations and/or no shows.
Cat Health
You agree to notify US of any signs of illness or injury or recent change of behaviour as soon as possible prior to the grooming appointment. We will not be held responsible for any pre-existing medical conditions or medical conditions or injury discovered during grooming. You are responsible for all veterinary medical expenses.
Fleas
To prevent the risk of transferring flea infestations between home visits, it is essential that Your cat is flea-free. If fleas are detected during the session, the grooming session will be terminated, and the deposit will still be required for payment to cover the cost of treating any equipment used to that point.
On the day of the appointment
You will ensure Your cat is available to groom when the groomer arrives for the appointment. If Your cat is an outside cat they need to be inside when the groomer arrives. If Your cat is an inside cat, please ensure they are not hiding. The groomer will wait a maximum of 15 minutes for You to locate your cat. If You are unable to locate Your cat in that time, the appointment will be classed as cancelled and You will lose Your deposit. If the groomer arrives at your house and there is no answer, We will make attempts to contact You by telephone and wait for 15 minutes. If You do not arrive within that time the groomer will leave, and You will lose your deposit.
Grooming area
We will need to groom in a space inside Your address where there is good lighting, a plug socket, is able to fit the groomer and their table in comfortably, can be secured by closing doors and where Your cat cannot easily hide. We will make You aware of this requirement when You make the booking. It is Your responsibility to make sure the space is suitable for the grooming session. We will make suggestions of suitable rooms and give You advice where We can.
Completion of a Groom
We cannot guarantee the completion of a groom during a visit. If the groomer is unable to handle Your cat safely (e.g. due to reactive - sometimes referred to as “aggressive”- behaviour, signs of stress, frantic behaviour), We may refuse, stop, or cancel the service at any time for the health and wellbeing of Your cat. You will be required to pay for the services that have been performed up until that point. We may suggest that services be carried out in multiple sessions, potentially at additional cost to You, which would be discussed at the time. We will always place a cat’s health, welfare and safety above adherence to a particular style. Previously discussed grooming styles may not be completed due to the cat’s condition. If it’s appropriate and in the best interest of Your cat, We may advise You to get Your cat groomed by a vet under sedation. These decisions are in Your cat’s best interest to prevent harm from coming to them.
Promotional Materials
We will from time to time take photos and/or videos of cats before, during, and/or after the grooming appointment to be utilised as advertisement, including on social media and our website, identifying Your cat by name (but not identifying You or linking You to the cat unless you request it). All the media files are property of Moggsy Malone Cat Grooming. Should You wish to opt out of photographs or videos of Your pet being used for promotional purposes, please email meow@moggsymalone.co.uk.
Insurance & DBS
We are insured to provide a mobile cat grooming service by Petplan Sanctuary and our groomer is DBS checked. We can provide evidence of these if requested.
GDPR Statement
Our work requires Us to obtain and store a limited amount of Your pet’s and of Your personal information in order to complete Our services to You. Such information will be stored in accordance with all relevant legislation in England. The information will be held as long as it is required by law (e.g., tax purposes). Your information will then be permanently deleted. You have the right to request and review any of Your personal information We hold on Our system. Please make any requests to meow@moggsymalone.co.uk.
In the event that your cat needs a partial or full clip due to a matted or pelted coat, You should be aware that irritation may occur from the shaving process and occasionally small nicks to the skin may occur due to tight proximity of matted fur to the skin or sudden movement by your cat. All clips may also uncover nicks, scabs, cuts, fungal or bacterial issues, pre-existing irritation or other potential problems. You agree to pay all costs for the groom, even if We are unable to fully complete the task.
You need to be aware that if hair is clipped away due to matting or styling, Your outdoor cat is able to catch a cold if the weather is cold. You are advised to keep your cat warm/ indoors/clothed whilst the re-growth occurs. You also need to be aware that Your cat will have higher UV exposure until the fur regrows.
If the matting is significant/very close to the skin, We will clip under mats with electric clippers to remove them. We will assess each case individually and discuss options with You. You need to be aware that clipping a coat can result in a structural change to the hair, which may result in colour or texture variation upon re-growth, and patchy regrowth. Consent to remove the matted hair, or carry out any elective shaving, is on this understanding.
Please be aware that shaving Your cat will dramatically alter its appearance, with the hair clipped very close to the skin. You need to be aware that other cats in your household or neighbourhood may not recognise the shaved cat when s/he returns home, and Moggsy Malone Cat Grooming is not responsible for any behavioural problems that result with other cats from carrying out any grooming services.
